Finance Manager - Multi Academy Trust

Resourcery Group is proud to exclusively partner with a rapidly growing Multi Academy Trust in Liverpool. The trust has experienced significant growth over the past academic year and is seeking a skilled Finance Manager to join their team. Reporting into the Group Head of Finance, this role will play a critical part in the trust's success and encompass a wide range of duties.

The role will involve overseeing the financial operations of five schools, including primary and secondary schools. Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing the annual budget
  • Compiling all necessary statutory returns for the education and skills funding agency
  • Conducting internal reporting to a variety of stakeholders, such as budget holders, staff, suppliers, debtors, and other relevant internal and external contacts
  • Supporting Headteachers with budgeting and forecasting
  • Acting as the main point of contact for external audits
  • Supervising a small team of transactional staff members
  • Delivering management and ad hoc reports to the Trust board and Board of Governors
  • Overseeing payroll functions
  • Assisting the Group Head of Finance with financial appraisals for projects

We are looking for a candidate who has the following qualifications and skills:

  • Prior experience in a similar role, with a proven ability to produce full monthly management accounts, support budget holders, and possess strong reporting capabilities
  • A drive to implement change within an organisation
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Previous experience in the education sector is preferred
  • A desire to add value and make a difference
  • Understanding of various funding streams
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Either fully or partially qualified in ACCA/ CIMA/ CIPFA or equivalent
  • Driving licence
