An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Finance in a renowned Not for Profit organisation in Liverpool on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Director of Finance you will support and motivate a small to medium sized finance team alongside the day to finance responsibilities.

As the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in developing the budget and financial planning processes for the organisation:

Key responsibilities of the Head of Finance:

  • Oversee, review, and promote adherence to the budgets for each Directorate and Department. -
  • Interpret complex financial information and prepare and present updates and information to a range of stakeholders.
  • To monitor and steer the delivery of the organisation's procurement activity, including the operation of purchase order and invoice payment processes for commitments made under contract and to assist in ensuring procurements are undertaken in accordance with the organisation's stated aims and objectives. -
  • Ensure an annual spend analysis is conducted to provide evidence-based baselines from which savings and efficiencies can be measured and key areas of spend that merit closer procurement attention can be identified.
  • Provide the Leadership Team with timely and accurate financial information and lead on the identification, assessment and mitigation of financial risk.

Required skills and experience of the Head of Finance:

  • Holds a recognised accounting qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Approachable, supportive and engaging leader
  • Proven ability to manage a team
  • Ability to manage a range of relationships and stakeholders, internal and external. - Ability to design and implement financial management structures and systems. -
  • Ability to analyse, manage, and present, complex financial management information at senior management level.
