Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Liverpool

Salary: £47,000 (including on-call allowance)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. On-call duty required 1 in 4 weekends.

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer for our client, a leading company in the food manufacturing/FMCG sector, based in Liverpool. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in food processing environments, particularly those experienced with packing plants and boilers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and ensure the optimal performance of mechanical equipment and systems within the plant.
• Troubleshoot and repair machinery, focusing on minimizing downtime.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of packing plants and boiler systems.
• Collaborate with the production team to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards.
• Participate in on-call duties 1 in every 4 weekends to provide emergency support.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a mechanical engineering role within the food manufacturing or FMCG industry.
• Extensive knowledge of packing plant operations and boiler maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Indefinite right to work in the UK is a must.
