Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to join their dynamic procurement team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to the achievement of business objectives by developing and implementing category strategies that align with key senior business stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing third-party contracts and suppliers, driving value for money commercial decisions, and mitigating supply chain risks. This role is key to delivering procurement category objectives regarding securing quality suppliers for the portfolio, compliance, contract management, while driving operational efficiencies and focused on achievement of cost control and savings targets.

* Integral part of the Procurement function, contributing to contractual and project initiatives activity* Proactive management of third-party contracts and suppliers approx. £100m+ annually* Key role in delivering procurement category objectives and driving operational efficiencies

What you bring:The ideal candidate for this Senior Buyer position brings a wealth of procurement experience, with at least 5 years spent in a category and contract managed environment. You possess a good working knowledge of the procurement lifecycle and its application, which will be crucial in managing complex contracts and working with suppliers through SLA and KPI performance. Your excellent negotiation skills will be put to good use as you successfully project manage and deliver key contract negotiations. Furthermore, your strong stakeholder and supplier relationship management skills will enable you to build and maintain strong relationships with all relevant parties.

* Demonstrable depth of procurement experience of at least 5 years in a category and contract managed environment* Good working knowledge of the procurement lifecycle and application thereof* Experience in managing complex contracts and working with suppliers through SLA and KPI performance* Excellent negotiation skills with an ability to successfully project manage and deliver key contract negotiations* Strong Stakeholder and Supplier Relationship Management skills* Commercially strong and contractually aware, skilled in reviewing and drafting supply agreements
