Quantity Surveyor

My client is a multi-million-pound construction refurbishment contractor, due to an increase in project demand they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor.

The successful Quantity Surveyor will be tasked to plan, control, manage and ensure effective administration of the commercial and financial aspects of all contracts while ensuring complete compliance with the contract outlines. You will commercially astute and be involved in pricing works on selected projects. Ensuring the best possible value and profit is maintained during and closing of project delivery.

You will have worked on previous refurbishment/construction projects. Their typical values range from £200K up to around £1million. They support clients in sectors including schools, hospitals, and social housing mainly across Merseyside and surrounding areas. These are fast paced short term projects with a turn around of 16/20 weeks per project.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and develop commercial processes and procedures and maximize returns in terms of profit.
Manage and reduce unnecessary costs and inefficient activities.
Maximize cash flow through valuations, submission of invoices and receipt of payment.
Final Accounts management including variations, claims, and disputes.
Financial forecasting for use in setting targets and managing the business.
Monitoring resources and costs to ensure that the projects meet agreed targets.

Experience and Qualifications:
You will have experience of working on refurbishment schemes within, education, NHS, social housing sector, ideally working on planned maintenance contracts.
You will be degree qualified or equivalent.
