Cloud Solutions Architect

We're working with a rapidly growing cloud consultancy, due to continued growth, they have an immediate vacancy for a Solutions Architect to join their talented and experienced team.

About the Role:

As a Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for the design, scoping, estimating and overseeing delivery of multiple professional services projects at any time. You will be required to multi-task, prioritise your workload and work closely with the leadership team, project managers and engineers to successfully deliver projects to the highest of standards whilst adhering to best practices, and remaining on budget and to the project time frame.

The company work with a wide variety of projects from the Public Sector, Education and Private Sector partners. These projects can include building automated data-driven solutions to build repeatable and recyclable environments in the cloud.

You will be responsible for end-to-end project delivery from the very first call with the customer to introduce, scope and estimate a project, to design and documentation to the final project sign-off. You will support a team of cloud engineers to deliver the project, providing guidance and expertise to ensure the project is delivered whilst growing the knowledge and skills of the team.


Responsibilities:

- Head up customer scoping and design calls to gather requirements, build a project scope and time to deliver an estimate for the project

- Formulate a customer's problem into an architectural solution which will deliver value to the customer

- Building positive customer relationships

- Work closely with the project team to deliver the project to a high standard, to the project scope within the project time and budget constraints

- Lead from the front and oversee the Cloud Engineers to deliver professional services projects

- Partner with the delivery team to provide guidance, knowledge and grow their skill set to meet project deadlines

- Work closely with the Head of Technical Operations to drive improvements in processes, procedures and automation to speed up project delivery

- Join client meetings and company events


Requirements:

- 3+ years experience designing and building solutions in AWS

- 2+ years experience with gathering project scope, requirements and designs either virtual or face-to-face with customers

- AWS Solution Architecture Certification at professional level

- Experience in writing Statements of Work with precise and detailed information, including high-level architectural designs

- Experience with core AWS Services including Load Balancing, EC2, RDS, CloudFront, S3 and CloudWatch

- Experience with modernisation legacy architectures such as containerisation or micro services

- Designing and building AWS server-less solutions such as API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, Eventbridge and Step Functions

- Time with best practices of deployment mechanisms to deploy releases across multiple environments (AWS native tooling preferred, other technologies accepted)

- Cloud migration focused on customers from on-premise environments to the cloud
