Our client, a distinguished Civil Engineering Contractor renowned for excellence in energy, infrastructure, and flood protection projects, seeks an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to add to their commercial team on a permanent basis. Operating across the Central Belt and Scottish Borders, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a range of dynamic projects.

Joining our client at this pivotal moment means becoming part of a team driving forward with unprecedented success.  Collaborating closely, you'll play a crucial role in managing multiple projects commercially, from inception to finalisation. Our diverse portfolio spans wind farms, renewables, highways, and roads, ensuring engaging and varied work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain precise financial control systems, including monthly cost value reconciliations and timely certification and payment of valuations.
  • Manage contract variations efficiently and accurately forecast cost and value across all trades.
  • Collaborate closely with operational teams to secure necessary resources, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Oversee site progress, issuing required notices in accordance with contract procedures.
  • Vet quotations diligently, ensuring compliance with specifications and obtaining competitive bids.
  • Prepare meticulous final accounts and manage subcontractor accounts effectively.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within roads, highways, renewables, or windfarm projects.
  • Strong organizational abilities for managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency with key cost-based software packages.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, adept at liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
