Empowering learning are recruiting Psychology & Sociology Graduate to work on a full-time basis as a Learning Support Assistant within Mainstream Schools with sen students within the Schools across Lambeth Borough. You will be supporting pupils with different SEND needs mainly teaching positive behaviour approach. Students with SEN needs that attend mainstream schools have mild ASD, SEMH, needs. This position will give anyone considering a future in teaching valuable classroom-based experience working as a 1:1 support assistant. We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and hands-on individual that can take direction and be asked to lead if called upon. If you are looking to start a career in Education or have already have one, then this is a great way to get yourself started, and this role will also suit anyone who is registered with Empowering Learning has other schoolwork opportunities and flexible hours.

Job Responsibilities

  • Must be comfortable supporting pupils with various Learning Difficulties
  • Psychology & Sociology Graduates we find have terrific communication skills and good understanding of personalities
  • Ability to engage and support pupils
  • Not be a clock watching and be able to support staff and students
  • Proactive candidates go far within the school industry business
  • Supervising children's behaviour

Job Requirements

  • Experience of supporting children or young adults with learning difficulties or disabilities desirable
  • Able to stay calm and de-escalate challenging Behaviour
  • Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
  • Available 3-5 days a week and able to commit to at least 4 months
