Curio Collection by Hilton is a global set of remarkable upper upscale hotels handpicked for their unique character and personality; each one a part of the fabric of the city it calls home. Lost Property is the seventh Curio Collection hotel opened in London.

Located on Ludgate Hill, just on the corner of St Paul’s cathedral, one of the most iconic London landmarks, Lost Property hotel has 145 bedrooms, a restaurant and bar called Found, a coffee house called Tattle, and a gym.

Our Found restaurant has been nominated for the World Culinary Awards in the Best New Restaurant category and shortlisted for the Best F&B Marketing Campaign at HMA, Hotel Marketing Awards. The hotel has also won Boutique Hotel of the Year in London title at the Travel & Hospitality Awards 2024.

About the job

You’ll be responsible for ensuring the coffe house (Tattle) runs efficiently and that customers are satisfied with the quality of food and the service they receive. You’ll be a great leader, effectively developing and managing the team and be polite, courteous and professional. Under your leadership, the team will provide a memorable and efficient service at all times to maintain an exceptional standard of service and quality.

People

  • To act as an ambassador for Tattle and new starters
  • Provide day to day operational support to all food & beverage departments as necessary
  • Drive Food & beverage KPIs related to quality, revenue & service (TripAdvisor, Google+ etc).
  • Complete mandatory training & be aware of food & beverage and hotel policies
  • Taking inventory of cafe supplies and ordering new stock as needed
  • Ensuring the cafe expenses are within budget and identifying ways to decrease operational cost
  • Recruiting, training, and supervising cafe staff and maintain the departmental standards

Quality

  • To engage with guests, members, VIPS etc as a brand ambassador
  • To drive service standards to ensure guest expectations are met and exceeded every time.
  • To maintain a high level of cleanliness in all food & beverage areas such as Tattle, Found & public areas
  • To ensure that Lost Property standards, Health & Safety standards & Fire safety standards are followed and displayed at all times

Profit

  • To understand the goals and objectives & drive revenue
  • To effectively manage costs, conduct monthly & weekly stock takes
  • To create rotas and ensure the staffing levels are correct to meet the business needs
  • To ensure par stock levels are maintained, stock processes are in place and accurate such as food/beverage stock take

About you

You will have had previous experience in a similar role in a cafe / upscale hotel or similar, with excellent food & beverage knowledge for 2 years+, good financial awareness with an understanding of revenue streams and cost control.

  • Excellent leadership skills with experience of developing and leading a team. Enthusiastic and passionate for the industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relation skills to ensure a seamless and memorable experience, proactively resolving any challenges that may arise, tracking and reviewing feedback to implement long term customer satisfaction solutions
  • Strong communication skills through a variety of means
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to stay calm under pressure, adapting your approach to complete routine and non-routine tasks
  • High attention to detail and accuracy – great at managing one’s own time and the time of the team
  • Ability to stay calm and work under pressure
