Chief Accountant

We are seeking a Chief Accountant to oversee the financial operations and management of service & holding companies on behalf of a growing newly formed renewable energy client of ours.
This role is based in the firms London office and requires a candidate with a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
This role does required individuals to be office based full time for the first 3-6 months of the role then hybrid working will be offerred.
Day to Day of the role:
- Oversee month-end closing and review management accounts for reporting.
- Control cash flow management for treasury and manage group intercompany transactions.
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process, including the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
- Prepare statutory accounts for compliance and liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities during financial audits and inspections.
- Lead and mentor a finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and effectively delegating tasks.
- Continuously review and improve financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with VAT reporting, PAYE Settlement process, and all financial regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to align financial and organisational goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or CPA) with 2-3 years minimum post qualified experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and financial management software, with SAP, IBM Cognos, HFM being advantageous.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
- Strong leadership skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and financial reporting standards.
