A unique opportunity to join at a very exciting time! Our client is a highly successful entraupaneur who owns successful companies - this is where you come in... Part of their portfolio of companies they also own a Boutique Hotel Group which holds several locations across the UK.

The business is growing, the business has big plans and the business requires a Qualified, experienced within hospitality, Management Accountant. It is super important to have either hospitality or retail background with multi-site experience to apply.

Reporting directly into the Finance Director as well as the CEO you will need to have the ability to hit the ground running and enjoy getting involved with the mindset this is a start-up with being the 1st Finance hire within this SME.

Responsibilities

  • The role will be in charge of 12 hotels spread out across the UK
  • This role is a very hands-on position, with you needing to be directly involved in all tasks such has preparation of Management Accounts 'from scratch'. As well as:
  • Implement and maintain acceptable accounting practices as required and in accordance with company policy and procedures
  • Develop and implement financial control procedures and systems to minimise risk; maintain records for internal and external audits; ensure compliance with government regulations and contractual agreements
  • Timely monitoring of cost vs budget/ forecast across the hotels
  • Manage hotel contracts (example: vendor leases and/or service contracts)
  • Ensure that all daily/ weekly and monthly finance deadlines, tasks and processes have been complied with (i.e. daily revenue reports and uploads, cash and credit card reconciliations)
  • Monitoring all hotel ledgers to minimise risk of bad debt
  • Prepare complete management accounts pack for hotels including balance sheet reconciliations. Variance analysis to identify cost saving and productivity opportunities for department heads
  • Completion of payroll report and manage its cost base as well as posting the payroll journal
  • Manage the production of weekly F&B flash reports

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with hospitality industry experience
  • Management Reporting experience Hospitality / Retail
  • Ability to challenge Heads of department when required
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong commercial acumen with a focus on driving excellent financial and commercial performance
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload whilst maintaining a strong relationship with key stakeholders
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft software, with experience in using finance and reporting software
