Reed Accountancy are seeking a high-calibre Accountant to join the expanding Business Services Unit of a medium size firm in Central London. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work to tight deadlines, and possess excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills. An interest in understanding clients’ businesses and contributing to the growth of our niche-oriented practice is essential.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Prepare financial accounts and VAT returns from clients’ records.
  • Compile accurate working paper files.
  • Conduct computations for Income Tax, Corporation Tax, VAT, and PAYE.
  • Respond promptly to client and partner telephone requests.
  • Review work-in-progress (WIP) and debtors for profitability.
  • Assist in client meetings and act as a supportive team member, providing guidance to junior staff.
  • Produce work for manager and partner review, highlighting issues and suggesting solutions.
  • Manage workload effectively to meet all deadlines and provide assistance to the accounts team and manager as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Computer literacy is a must.
  • Up-to-date technical knowledge, including recent developments in accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Qualified ACCA or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounts preparation assignments.
  • Working knowledge of Xero, VT, Sage, and CCH Central.
