We are looking for a dedicated Semi-senior or Senior Accountant to join our clients team in a key position within an established office.The role encompasses a mix of Limited Company and Personal Tax Return work, managing customer relationships, and assuming technical responsibility for tax and VAT work. This position offers the opportunity to be involved in staff training and potentially signing up new clients for those who demonstrate the right ability.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Prepare end-of-year financials, including review files and preparation of accounts, tax computations, and reconciliations.
  • Manage Corporation Tax Returns and VAT Returns, including checking work prepared by junior staff.
  • Address basic technical queries from clients and conduct research on more complex VAT queries.
  • Prepare Accounts from Trial Balances prepared by bookkeepers and outsourcers.
  • Print off lists from the database for VAT returns and Personal Tax Returns, delegate work to the outsourcing team, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Assist in the training of junior staff and ensure timesheets are completed correctly.
  • Maintain efficient customer relationship management, ensuring client queries are answered correctly, and provide proactive advice and assistance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in both Limited Company and Personal Tax work.
  • Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks Online, and other relevant software.
  • Ability to manage customer relationships via email, telephone, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Strong technical knowledge in Tax and VAT, with the ability to implement processes and quality control.
  • Experience in managing and training junior staff members.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
