Only candidates with previous UK Banking experience will be considered.

On behalf of our client, an International Bank based in London, we are looking for a Settlements and treasury officer to join their team in London on a permanent basis.

The role will be assisting the Manager in overseeing the smooth functioning of Settlement and Customer Services to maintain sufficient check-and-balance in connection with the Treasury’s day-to-day positions, provide quality services to customers and to implement secure working practices relating to funds transfers. Accountability will include managing the settlement functions to ensure the correctness of positions and deals; covering the full spectrum of Customer Services activities when required, maintenance and management of customer relationships to achieve total customers’ satisfaction via delivery of high quality customer services in order to attract and retain customers and to contribute towards achieving business growth and profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities:

·Settlements:

oOperate day-to-day positions.

oCheck and co-authorise credit items and timely payments within the limit and delegated signing authority.

oCounter check positions with the dealers during the day and before the end of each day.

oMatch confirmations to ensure the correctness.

oHandle queries/investigations in connection with Bank-to Bank payments.

·Customer Services:

oCover for the Administrative Officer in charge of Customer Services.

oDevelop and implement strategies relating to customer’ deposits, remittances, and settlements to ensure the competitiveness of the Customer Services tariffs.

·Establish & monitor compliance with the approved policies, workflow procedures & guidelines and relevant governing rules & regulations pertaining to all the activities within the Settlement and to update, on an ongoing basis, all the corresponding manuals and procedures. Review and implement changes in operations process workflows for continuous improvements in efficiency.

·Assist Manager carrying out Watch List and investigations as part of the Sanction List/ AML procedure.

·Oversee, direct, supervise, appraise, motivate and train the staff to ensure the smooth functioning of its operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

·Previous UK banking experience

·Previous relevant settlements management experience

·Matched confirmations

·Countercheck positions with dealers

·Handle queries/investigations in connection with bank to bank payments
