Title: Assistant Accountant
Type: 15-month temporary contract
Location: Central London, hybrid working options offered.
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + bonus + benefits
The company:
Our client is a multinational Shipping group, headquartered in London. They are currently looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their high performing finance team on a 15-month contract.
Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for the preparation and control of intercompany, related party and third party reconciliations.
- Preparation of bank reconciliations and payment instructions
- Preparation and input of journal entries for approval by Group Accountants
- Assisting Group Accountants with quarter end procedures.
- Assisting Chief Accountant with further accounting tasks when required
- Ensuring that accounting controls are adhered to at all times
- Maintenance and quarterly uploading of the Company’s lease, depreciation, deferred charges, interest accruals and other accounting schedules as required.
- Researching technical accounting issues and preparation of file notes and accounting memos for non-routine commercial transactions. (depending on experience)
Role Requirements
- The ideal candidate will be a part qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA studier with at least 3 years experience in an accounting function
- Ability to work on own initiative or as a part of a team
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Candidates must have advanced Excel skills/analytical skills
