Location: London, SE21 8EN
Salary: £34-40k, DOE
Contract: Full-time, permanent

AV Technician - The Role

As an AV Technician at The Flash Pack, you'll be integral to delivering a diverse range of live event activations and installations, from photobooths at live events to cutting-edge bullet time sequences for Redbull.

Successful candidates will have a love for all things technical, be happy to work on varied and exciting but often high pressure projects. You will have a natural attitude for troubleshooting technical issues and problem solving with a focus on AV and network configuration / troubleshooting.

You will be willing to travel within the UK, and occasionally in Europe, and the US. We work in live events so you will need to work outside of standard office hours as needed. Our studio is in SE London.

You will have a positive, ‘can-do' attitude to foster a positive team environment.

Responsibilities;

• Delivery and installation of photo, video, and AV equipment, including TFP product suite - flashbooth, retro booths, bullet time rigs and photogrammetry rigs.
• Experience with managing Linux Systems: basic bash scripting, terminal text editing, OS and package installation, network configuration.
• Installing electronic systems, managing power requirements, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Experience with microcontrollers such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, embedded systems, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).Capable of performing delicate soldering tasks on a variety of electronic components and circuit boards.
• Manage pre-event equipment configuration and testing.
• Manage packing, loading and delivery / shipment of kit.
• Configuration of computer networks, including wifi, ip addresses and routers.
• On-site troubleshooting of computers, printers, monitors, and networking issues at both permanent installations and live events.
• Conduct ongoing maintenance of TFP permanent installations and product suite, monitoring remotely or on-site, ensuring smooth operation.
• Log faults and errors during site visits and provide regular updates to relevant teams and management.
• Maintain an organized TFP Tech lab and equipment store.
• Train non-technical staff on TFP AV and camera equipment.
• You will be customer facing and able to communicate in a friendly and non-technical manner with relevant individuals where necessary.
• You will communicate with colleagues and partner tech teams being clear about requirements and specifications.
• Assist senior technicians in researching new technologies and contribute to the preparation of technical briefs.

AV Technician - What we need from you

Skills & Experience

• A valid UK driver's license due to frequent travel in the UK and periodically to Europe.
• Strong competency in both Windows and MacOS environments to support diverse technical requirements and client setups.
• Demonstrable skills in network configuration and troubleshooting, including both LAN and wireless systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems relevant to AV setups.
• A good working knowledge of power distribution.
• A basic understanding of electrical circuitry, circuit protection mechanisms and a knowledge of the fundamentals of electrical safety.
• Able to develop and troubleshoot circuits and software control solutions in AV Installations. (Desirable)
