S3 Science are currently recruiting for a Multi-disciplinary Biomedical Scientist to join our client who is an independent clinical testing laboratory. They provide pathology diagnostic services across the healthcare sector and are proud to be able to provide fast results for their clients and patients.

Our client is looking for a multi-disciplinary Biomedical Scientist (HCPC registered) to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. You will need to be HCPC registered and have experience in Blood Sciences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a wide range of diagnostic tests in disciplines such as haematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, immunology, and histopathology
  • Analyse and interpret complex data, providing accurate and timely results to healthcare professionals for patient diagnosis and treatment
  • Specimen reception management
  • Record and manage test results using laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
  • Temperature monitoring
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including infection control and hazardous materials handling
  • Laboratory stock control and ordering
  • Disposing of chemical and biological waste
  • Answering telephone enquiries
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Keeping and filing records

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
  • Must be HCPC registered
  • PCR experience is preferred
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Good understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Good data input skills
  • At least two years experience in Blood Sciences
