What You’ll Be Doing
- This is a hands-on and dynamic role where you’ll take full ownership of our bookkeeping and provide executive and administrative support across the business. Responsibilities include:
- Managing all day-to-day bookkeeping tasks: accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, bank reconciliations, and accurate financial record keeping
- Preparing monthly and quarterly management reports to support business decisions
- Preparing VAT returns and CIS returns
- Liaising with external accountants and supporting year-end processes
- Admin for companies including utility payments, invoice settlement and generation.
- Providing executive assistance to the Director, including diary and inbox management, travel coordination, and ad hoc research
- Assisting with general admin and operations projects as needed
What You’ll Need
- The role will involve Xero, Corporate Governance, accounting, VAT returns and CIS returns as well as payment and invoice processing. Hours are flexible. The projects are interesting and varied.
- Proven bookkeeping experience and strong understanding of UK accounting practices with experience in a similar role
- Check, analyse and process invoices
- Experience filing VAT returns
- Experience filing CIS returns
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of organisation
- Proficiency in Xero, Excel, MS suite of programmes and bank payment systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with good written and spoken English
- Discretion and reliability when handling sensitive information
A self-starter attitude - you’re someone who can manage your own workload and work independently
Ideally, you will have experience in a small business environment and will be comfortable on your own
Additional Info:
- Part-time role, flexible on hours worked but ideally around 12 per week
- Hybrid role -you will need to be able to come in to the office in cental london at a few times per week – At the start this is entirely office based. Do Not apply if you are looking to WFH or are wanting a Hybrid
- Honesty, integrity, flexibility and can do attitude a must.
- You must know Xero well
Salary: £20-£22.50 per hours
