Rev & Regs are recruiting for an Operational Risk Business Partner position for a dynamic and well-renowned Financial Services company in the City of London.

The Risk Business Partner will be instrumental to assuring the effective implementation, development, and maintenance of the businesses Risk Management Framework. Working closely with senior leaders and business owners as a 2nd line oversight, you will impart advice, support, resource, and knowledge about important and cross-cutting risks.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a dedicated 2nd line of defence Risk Business Partner to support 1st line management in implementing and embedding the Group’s risk management framework.
  • Monitor and report upon each business area’s ability to operate within appetite, ensuring that potential issues are identified, escalated, and managed quickly and appropriately.
  • Act as a focal point and escalation route for business colleagues; driving risk management culture and behaviours through regular interactions with people across the organisation.
  • Understand the business risk profile and key processes for diverse business area(s) and complete targeted risk assessments in conjunction with the business.
  • Support improvements and the on-going maintenance of the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process and 1st line control testing, including the facilitation of meetings and risk workshops to help the business identify appropriate risks and controls.
  • Ensure that emerging or existing risks, issues and incidents are appropriately identified, managed, reported, and escalated by the business.
  • Review new business initiatives and act as a project liaison ensuring that key risks are identified and managed and that appropriate stakeholders are involved in the approval process.
  • Monitor business compliance with and adherence to Group policies, including risk policies in relation to Operational risk; Market Exposure; Data Protection; and Outsourcing (2nd Line Reviews).
  • Participate in the development of the Internal Capital and Risk Assessment (ICARA) and the Liquidity Management Framework, including facilitating scenario and stress testing workshops.

Experience:

  • At least 5+ years of Operational Risk management experience in a financial or professional services firm, with a proven ability to identify and provide expert advice on risk mitigation.
  • Working knowledge of the regulatory environment in financial services.
  • Experience with dealing with and presenting to Executive and Board level audiences.
  • Experience working with the 1st Line on a wide variety of risk and control related matters including review and testing.
  • Knowledge or exposure to ICARA processes is desirable.

Salary: £80,000 plus bonus

Location: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in City of London office)
