Our client an established and highly reputable trade association who has over 1,800 member companies is looking for a General Manager - Membership.

The Role of General Manager - Membership

We are looking for a full-time, experienced and highly motivated General Manager to provide strategic and operational direction to our membership department. This role will be responsible for the oversight of the department’s primary functions of membership administration, invoicing, engagement and service as well as lending a hand within the day-to-day operations if needed.

The General Manager will provide expertise and support to the Senior Manager and the membership team, ensuring a provision of the highest levels of applicant and member service during what is for us a period of continuous and rapid growth.

This role will be at the forefront in further developing the capabilities of our membership department including the emerging requirements of due diligence, automated invoicing and customer service. The General Manager will work as part of the management team, reporting directly to the Executive Director.

Person Specification

Proven experience in a similar role involving the development, oversight and management of a membership team, body or equivalent ideally within a similar industry and/or in sustainability

Demonstrable track record of developing and managing a membership department during sustained periods of membership growth

In-depth knowledge of membership and due diligence requirements

Experience of successful multi-stakeholder management and project management

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field (desirable)

Experience in the identification and provision of solutions to fill gaps in membership processes
