This is a great role role for a reliable and dedicated individual, with at least one years’ experience of multi-drop. As the multi-drop driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and packages to designated locations in a timely manner.
You will be working for a small, established but growing business and covering the South East London region from SE1 to SE27 and SW5 to SW18. There will be the occasional route into the City of London.
Due to the nature of the work, you could be having 50-60 stops on a typical day or potentially less. This depends on if packages need to be rescheduled or if there is extra work. There might be days when there is less work, so hours of work will depend on workload. Start time is 7.30am.
A vehicle is provided for the work to be carried out and a full UK driving licence is required and no more than 6 points please.
Your role will involve:
- Making collections and deliveries in SE London and the surrounding areas
- Safely driving the company vehicle to collect customers packages
- Load and unload items from the delivery vehicle
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Communicate with customers in a professional manner, helping ensure service levels are consistently achieved for all clients
- Helping to take on new work with new clients
- Following delivery schedules and routes provided by the Operations Manager
- Adhering to all road and traffic regulations
- Maintaining safe working practices
- Supporting driving colleagues in completing their daily delivery work
- Covering for the Operations Manager as required
To be considered for this role you will need the following:
- A full UK Driving Licence (Manual)
- Less than 6 points on your license
- A clear DBS check
- At least 1 year of multi-drop delivery experience
- Good customer and communication skills
The salary is up to £27,500 p.a. for a 45-hour week (Mon - Fri) with 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays, plus company pension.
Some weekend work may be needed from time to time and will be subject to additional payment.
