Experienced chef manager – Term Time
Where are all the amazing contract catering/education chef managers. We at Olive Dining are recruiting a chef manager to oversee the kitchen at St Matthews Academy in SE3 0XX.
If you like a challenge and want to make your mark, this could be the ideal role for you. The chef manager will be catering for a primary and a secondary school, with the assistance of 11 experience and motivated team.
Olive Dining offer a bespoke service entirely dedicated to the education sector. We are full of like-minded people who are committed to providing healthy and delicious meals, serving both primary and secondary schools around the Southeast of London. The ideal candidate will be joining a growing company, covering an average of up to 120 education sites in London and surrounding areas. We pride ourselves in offering fresh and wholesome meals for the students.
We offer:
- Mon to Fri
- 37.5 to 40 hours per week
- No late nights
- Salary £35000k per annum including up to 12-week holiday per annum.
- Equivalent to £22.00 per hour.

The chef manager/Head Chef role will be cooking and overseeing the kitchen making sure everything runs smoothly and food is served on time and to the highest standards. As a chef manager/Head Chef you must have experience catering for large numbers, preferably have worked in the education sector or contract catering.
What we are looking for in a chef Manager
- Experienced chef manager’s that have catered for large numbers in contract catering or have previously worked in a secondary school.
- We would also consider chef managers that are ready to move away from the restaurant environment or hospitality sector but have the experience cooking for volumes.
- Passionate about food
- Must have strong management skills
- Experience cooking food from scratch, all from fresh produce.
- Good understanding of P&L account
- A chef manager that can work closely with the team and get the best out of each member of staff.
- We expect the chef manager to build a good rapport with the students and our client.
