Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our kitchen leadership team. The Sous Chef works closely with the Head Chef to uphold the restaurants high standards both for food preparation and presentation and support the daily management of the kitchen brigade. This role requires, strong leadership skills, and an uncompromising dedication to quality. Due to the small size of our brigade the sous chef must be able to function in all sections of the kitchen to fill gaps in staffing where necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Executive Chef in menu development, seasonal changes, and daily specials.
Supervise, train, and mentor the kitchen team, fostering a culture of precision, respect, and creativity.
Ensure consistency, quality, and accuracy of all dishes before service.
Manage daily kitchen operations, including prep, mise en place, and service execution.
Oversee food safety, hygiene, and training with the use of Food Alert software.
Monitor stock levels, order ingredients, and minimize waste through careful planning and control.
Deputise for the head chef in their absence.
Qualifications & Skills
Ideally the sous chef will have at least 2 years experience in a similar environment either as junior sous or sous chef.
