The Role
Do you possess a degree or professional diploma in fire safety engineering, coupled with experience of implementing fire engineering solutions? Are you an expert in fire safety regulations with a talent for practical solutions? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.
We are a passive fire protection specialist, looking to appoint an experienced and knowledgeable Fire Safety Engineer to our growing team.
You will use your expertise to provide technical fire engineering advice on a range of buildings throughout the design, construction and occupancy phases.

Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying fire-related risks and advising on how to reduce or eliminating them.
- Producing fire strategy documents for new and existing buildings.
- Producing fire safety management plans for new and existing buildings.
- Advising on fire safety measures at design and construction stages.
- Making recommendations for the materials used in the construction or refurbishment of a building including the external wall systems.
- Visiting project/construction sites to advise on the installation or implementation of the designs.
- Providing technical advice on safe building occupancy levels, fire evacuation plans etc.
- Liaising with local authorities and/or building control professionals as required.
- Take a lead role in developing and growing our fire engineering capability.
- Provide high quality technical fire consultancy to clients.
- Keep abreast of current legislation, relevant national and international standards and guidelines and technical developments within the relevant field.
- Respond to requests for client work and proposals in a timely manner.
- Working closely with our business development team developed positive client relationships.

The Person
- A degree or professional diploma in fire safety engineering or equivalent.
- Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers or Institute for Fire Safety Managers.
- Significant experience of implementing fire engineering solutions in a range of settings.
- Excellent knowledge of the current and emerging fire safety legislation framework.
- Strong analytical and report writing ability.
- Ability to verbally communicate complex information simply and concisely.
- Positive approach to the challenges of change and see change as an opportunity not a threat.
- Ability to prioritise and schedule objectives to optimise time, cost and quality.
- Strives to improve performance and uses innovative methods to get there.
