This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced communications professional to work on various high-profile projects within the Civil Service.   • Owns overarching communications strategy, aligning with 'Come Build the Future' narrative.
  • Leads domestic communications strategy across HMG.
  • Develops and implements internal, domestic, and external communication strategies.
  • Provides strategic recommendations.
  • Oversees digital strategy and content (Website, Instagram, X, Blogs, YouTube, LinkedIn).
  • Reviews team ideas and plans for alignment.

Team Management & Coordination

  • Leads engagement with British Embassy Tokyo Media, Comms, and Marketing Team, and UK Pavilion Team.
  • Owns communications grid.
  • Oversees engagement and governance forums with sponsors and partners.
  • Liaises with UK government departments, businesses, and stakeholders.

Media & PR Leadership

  • Oversees media engagement and ensures key message consistency.
  • Develops crisis communications templates and lines to take.
  • Keeps core script up to date, liaising with stakeholders.
  • Signs off on press-lines, queries, and engagement.

Agency & Stakeholder Management

  • Leads engagement with Japan Network.
  • Manages relationships with sponsors and their communication plans.
  • Manages relationship with suppliers' sub-contractor PR agency in Japan.
  • Engages with Media Buying Agency via relationship lead.

Budget & Performance Monitoring

  • Oversees tracking of campaign performance metrics and reporting.
  • Monitors real-time campaign analytics and adjusts strategy as needed.

  • Experience:
    • Strategic leadership in communications.

    • Developing and implementing communication strategies.
    • Civil service experience required.
