A FTSE250 media company is looking for an Internal Communications Manager on a permanent basis paying £50,000 - £60,000 with a June or July start.

After a period of largescale transformation across the business, the organisation is now focused on building a company culture that 'makes magic happen for its employees’. The successful candidate will partner with the executive leadership team and work across all business divisions and brands to unify employees and bring the culture to life.

The team is 'small but mighty’, and is always at the centre of the latest conversations about how the business can do things differently for its people. Collaborating with teams across the business including HR, Technology, Property, Finance, Senior, Leadership and more, the Internal Communications Manager is responsible for leading on internal communication strategy, writing communications plans and materials and confidently delivering these to the 700 strong global workforce.

In particular, you’ll work closely with the People team to communicate key People initiatives such as the new vision and values. You’ll act as an advisor to teams in the business and empower them to think differently about how they engage with employees. If you enjoy building trusted relationships, thinking creatively about communications, and creating strategies that you see all the way through to delivery, this is a brilliant opportunity to take on a role that shapes how the organisation’s people feel about the business.

This role would suit a curious communicator with confidence (not arrogance), and creative flair. Experience working closely with HR/people teams would be good and experience working in a global business would be fantastic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the creation, execution and evaluation of all internal communications
  • Become an extension of the people team, partnering closely with the Chief People Officer to embody the company culture and deliver engaging communications that bring the business’ initiatives and benefits to life
  • Collaborate with the creative team on different communications mediums, visual designs and events to create memorable internal campaigns
  • Manage the internal communications calendar and be the go-to advisor for all internal messages, giving counsel to team leaders when needed
  • Manage the company-wide intranet platform
  • Organise company-wide Town Halls (virtual) and support the organisation of in-person events, such as company conferences and end of year events
  • Help employees understand the organisation’s position as a listed business, translating financial results, materials into accessible communications that engage employees and shareholders

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills - flawless spelling and grammar are essential for success in this role
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders on internal communications. Confidence in pitching ideas, collaborating with and influencing senior management is key
  • Ability to build relationships quickly - this role requires a lot of collaboration
  • Experience reporting on internal communications
  • Genuine passion for people’s experience of company culture
  • Project management skills
  • Amateur video editing and graphic design skills are a plus but are not essential (e.g. experience with Canva and iMovie, or similar)

This role has a hybrid working model with one to two days a week required in the central London office.
