We are currently seeking an Assistant Design Manager focusing on Rail projects (Electrification & Plant). This position is a hybrid role, based out of the Blackfriars office with opportunities for remote work and occasional site visits.

As an Assistant Design Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the successful development of pre-construction work. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the development of schemes through design and pre-construction activities, collaborating closely with customers, stakeholders, design partners, suppliers, and delivery teams. You'll work towards delivering high-quality solutions within set financial targets, while fostering a collaborative culture throughout the project team.

The ideal candidate will have:

· Experience interfacing with Design Contractors and Clients, driving design programs, and embracing Lean principles for efficiency improvements.

  • Knowledge of BIM, technology, and IT to enhance project delivery.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, NEC3 knowledge, and contract administration abilities.
  • Previous experience managing design programs and ensuring quality, commercial performance, and adherence to schedules.
  • Technical proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Project and construction industry practices.
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience), with aspirations for professional membership with a relevant institution.
