Sterling Williams are working alongside a banking institution who are looking to hire an Assistant for their Credit function.If you have a minimum of 1-2 years experience within lending (mortgages, bridging, personal) we'd love to hear from you.

This is a permanent positions, carries a salary of c£30 - 35,000 pa plus benefits, and operates a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office, with 2 from home, The main purpose of the role is to support the Head of Credit, and the Senior Credit Officers.

To support the effective and efficient management of the Credit Team’s oversight and governance responsibilities with specific responsibility for:

  • Credit Team planning and administration in conjunction with then Team Heads
  • Support the administration of the Credit Team’s Procedures
  • Supporting scheduled and ad-hoc projects/tasks and change initiatives
  • Support Credit in the control and reporting of Credit Risk in each of the Bank’s lending units.
  • This includes the review and analysis of submissions to ensure risk is appropriately identified, mitigated and complies with the parameters of Credit Policy and portfolio-risk appetite.
  • Review and approve initial loan drawdowns, ensuring they are compliant with the Conditions of Sanction.

The successful candidate will likely have

  • Experience of working in a banking environment with exposure to property lending and ideally credit - this may be Mortgages, Bridging, or Personal lending.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • A team player with excellent relationship building skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills: oral, written and presentation
  • Good planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and deliver timely completion
  • Attention to detail
