Sustainability Consultant
Up to 45k

A global consultancy with a sustainable, net-zero approach to design and construction is looking for a Sustainability Consultant to join their London office.

Working alongside a talented team of sustainability experts and engineers, you will have the opportunity to lead high-profile, challenging projects across the EMEA.

  • A global multi-disciplinary practice that delivers sustainably led projects
  • Working directly with Tier 1 architects and clients on projects across a variety of sectors
  • A sustainability team of around 20 heads offering plenty of support and progression
  • Flexible work environment, offering 2/3 days of working from home

Large master planning projects, stadiums, airports & transport hubs, large commercial offices and key public projects are the type of architecture that you will be working on. Having a vital input on complex design work across all stages offers you and your team to innovate challenging solutions and drive sustainability standards across these projects and the wider industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering environmental and sustainability advice on projects for both internal and external clients.
  • Framing client briefs in terms of environmental and sustainable aspirations.
  • Consulting on: - environmental design, - sustainable strategies, - healthy buildings, - passive building design including energy, water and daylight design - performance modelling and optimisation, - the circular economy, including carbon, energy, water, waste and other resource flows, - sustainability and wellness benchmarking and implementation,
  • Underpinning recommendations with sound analysis, including building physics.
  • Coordinating recommendations and approach with the building services engineering concepts, working with in-house and external engineers to achieve this

Qualifications and experience

  • Successfully co-ordinating and delivering sustainable & environmental design input to projects
  • Knowledge of and experience with the application of building physics packages
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritise and to think strategically about the timing and delivery
  • Engaging with and influencing peers outside of formal management relationships
  • Strong writing skills for producing written reports
  • Effective analytical and IT skills to develop new and bespoke assessment methods for project specific tasks and rendered in a manner that allows re-use
  • Engaging and negotiating with senior management and peers on projects
  • Specialist knowledge in a chosen discipline (e.g. performance modelling, circular economy, benchmarking etc)
