Event Operations Planning Manager - East London, E20 - up to £57k + generous bonus scheme

We’re on the hunt for an Event Operations Planning Manager with extensive experience developing and implementing comprehensive event operational plans that control resources and manage staffing levels.

Joining a successful venue, the Event Ops Planning Manager will be responsible for the effective operational planning and delivery of events and coordinating aspects of the operations functions including scheduling internal teams and 3rd party contractors and managing financial cost controls.

Suitable candidates will possess strong analytical skills, impeccable attention to detail and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities as the Event Operations Planning Manager will include:

  • Managing realistic and comprehensive event operations plans to optimise efficiency and effective cost controls
  • Monitoring and controlling resources to ensure outgoings are in line with approved budgets and monthly forecasts
  • Leading monthly forecasting processes, scheduling services for each function through 3rd party providers
  • Effective workforce planning for both internal and 3rd party teams - managing internal event staff allocations and shift schedules
  • Collaborating with department heads to align planning schedules
  • Analysing data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement or for opportunities to bring roles in-house
  • Providing regular reports to senior management and leadership team

What we’re looking for:

  • Relevant experience in similar event operations planning roles
  • Experience in creating realistic and comprehensive operational plans and workforce plans
  • Exceptional skills in planning - thinking through implications of decisions and competently organising resources
  • Budget management experience
  • Forecasting experience
  • Excellent communication skills with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle objection
  • Ability to influence, guide decision and negotiate to meet objectives
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic decisions
  • Proficiency in planning software and tools (i.e. ERP systems, MRP systems, Excel etc)
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to deal with changing priorities
  • Client-focused attitude
