Job Description Assistant ManagerPosition: Assistant Manager
Location: East London (Sri Lankan Restaurant)
Reports to: Restaurant Manager / Owner
The Assistant Manager will support the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service, happy customers, and a motivated team. Working closely with the Manager/Owner, the Assistant Manager will take responsibility for supervising staff, maintaining standards, and contributing to the restaurants success.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations
Lead and motivate the front-of-house team to deliver excellent service
Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional manner
Assist with staff training, rotas, and performance monitoring
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards
Oversee stock management and assist with ordering supplies
Monitor financial aspects such as cash handling and daily takings
Step in to manage the restaurant in the Managers absence
At least 2 years experience in a supervisor or assistant manager role within hospitality
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Passion for food and hospitality (interest in Sri Lankan cuisine is a bonus, but training will be provided)
