CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

POSITION : Chief Financial Officer

LOCATION : London - Hybrid role

SALARY AND BENEFITS : 71,070 PLUS 18% pension (13% employer/ 5% employee)

THE ROLE : This is an excellent opportunity to join our Public Sector client in what is a crucial role within their organisation. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will have overall responsibility for financial monitoring, performance strategy and policy. The successful candidate will be focusing on strategic financial management and also the financial aspects of continual business improvement.

DUTIES :

• Provision of strategic and financial guidance to ensure thatfinancial obligations in accordance with Managing Public Money are met;
• Development of all necessary policies and procedures to ensure the sound financial management and control of the finance department
• Exercising of overall responsibility for the management of financial risk
• Coordination and presentation of audits and other financial reports.
• Oversee the preparation of thefinancial accounts and consolidated audit report to ensure that these are presented accurately and on time
• Develop and implement an internal audit programme to ensure that all the Regional Offices around the UKcomply with financial procedures and regulations.
• Supervise the preparation the Annual Budget Cycle (ABC) requirements for all theRegional Offices and be present at screenings as necessary.
• In conjunction with the Commercial department, monitor external contracts and services provided by suppliers to ensure that these are operating effectively and provide the best value to the organisation

• Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions to ensure that the organisationremains within allocated budget and ensure that cash balances held are appropriate for the needs of the business.

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING :

• Membership of one of the following bodies - CIPFA , CIMA , ACA, or ACCA
• Significant experience of strategic financial analysis and planning
• The ability to communicate at Board level
• Specific experience of driving Process Improvement
