Harper May is collaborating with a leading retail group, currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead their finance team.

As the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the financial operations, including planning and analysis, ERP systems and supply chain

management, international treasury and fundraising support. Working closely with the Chief Executive and national teams, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction and

driving sustainable growth, ensuring that the financial strategies align with the business objectives and market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies to support our growth objectives, including revenue projections, expense management, and capital allocation.
  • Drive external financing activities, including debt and equity financing, negotiating favourable terms and structures to support our expansion plans and enhance shareholder value.
  • Work with partners on all sides of the supply chain to build and manage a resilient IT infrastructure.
  • Aid in investor relations efforts, maintaining strong relationships with investors and providing regular updates on company performance, growth prospects, and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage multicurrency operations and treasury functions, implementing robust risk management strategies to mitigate currency and market risks.
  • Oversee financial planning and analysis, providing timely and accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis to support decision-making across the organisation.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and mitigate risks proactively.
  • Aid in investor relations efforts, maintaining strong relationships with investors and providing regular updates on company performance, growth prospects, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably as a CFO or equivalent, with a track record of success in driving financial performance and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Background in investor relations and external financing, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with investors and secure funding to support business objectives
  • Expert knowledge of management information systems and prior experience in ERP implementation.
  • Expertise in managing multicurrency operations and treasury functions, with a deep understanding of foreign exchange markets, hedging strategies, and risk management practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic insights to inform decision-making.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and communicate complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Bachelor degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in the health and beauty industry and/or selling products into China from Europe is a plus.
