Interim Head of Finance

Based in London, hybrid working

Length: 6 months

Inside IR35

To lead on undertaking a multi-year service review of demand-led budgets (temporary accommodation, environmental services, highways and parking) to ensure that accurate five-year forecasts have been developed for these service areas

Core deliverables of the Head of Finance:

• Improved the quality of budget management and forecasting across the Place and Finance and Corporate directorates
• Ensure high quality and informed financial advice at all levels of operational decision making and that the team is focused on providing a customer focused service and building strong working relationships with budget holders
• Identify potential savings opportunities and emerging future pressures which has enabled the service area to have the time to develop appropriate mitigations
• Ensuring budget holders are upskilled so that they have a better understanding of how to manage their budgets thorough understanding concepts such as value for money and how to forecast more accurately through the utilisation of different forecast techniques
• Experience writing business cases and making cost savings across all directorates

Experience and knowledge required of the Head of Finance:

• ACCA qualified finance professional
• Experience managing a large team
• Key stakeholder management
