We are looking for an experienced Technical Accounting Lead to join a prestigious membership body, overseeing the organisation’s transition from Open Accounts systems to Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations while ensuring their reporting requirements as a trade union and charity are accommodated.
Key Responsibilities of the Technical Accounting Lead:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure that the new group chart of accounts and financial analysis are fit to deliver the group statutory accounts and quarterly VAT returns.
- Ensure that the system development complies with group reporting standards and takes into account upcoming changes to FRS 102.
- Assume responsibility for testing that the system design and reporting functions are delivering statutory accounts for each group entity that are in compliance with accounting standards.
- Undertake testing that the system design and reporting functions for VAT processes are accurate and comply with partial exemption rules.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Qualification as an Accountant (CCAB-recognised).
- Demonstrable experience of producing statutory accounts using FRS102 and SORP.
- Experience in financial accounting roles, and of preparing group accounts.
- Hands-on experience of implementing a new finance system.
- Advanced Excel skills and highly analytical, with the ability to present complex financial information in non-technical language.
- Strong technical knowledge and experience of reporting on behalf of a charity and of implications for VAT.
Salary and Benefits:
- c£72,000 per annum.
- Full-time, 15-month fixed-term contract.
- Hybrid working pattern, office in Central London with provision for remote working.
