HLTA
SEMH Pupil Referral Unit
Kensington

Term time only - Full Time

Are you highly-creative, resilient trained HLTA looking for a new challenge? Then this opportunity at an SEMH Primary School in Greenwich may be just what you are looking for.

The Role

The school are looking for a highly skilled HLTA with experience of working with highly complex A.S.D./SEMH pupils. You will be supporting them developing their day to day and academic skills as well as their social emotional needs, in preparation for their transition to secondary education. You will have a timetable to provide interventions and cover classes across the school. As part of your role the school would ideally like to cover and to complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities both in and out of school, under an agreed system of supervision that supports the teacher with learning outcomes.

The PRU

This Alternative provision is part of a specialist academy trust which provides specialist support for pupils who are unable to access mainstream education. They have a culture of resilience, compassion and innovation with a true drive to ensure every learner reaches their full potential. This setting in Fulham has a total of 16 places for primary and secondary age children who experience difficulties with their learning and behaviour in mainstream school. Some pupils have an EHCP in place whilst others are at risk of being (or have been) permanently excluded. The school follows the national curriculum alongside a range of extracurricular activities to enhance their learning. The school uses their own Behaviour for Learning framework which is based on the relationship with self, others and curriculum, and promotes positive learning behaviours inside and outside the classroom. The school is easily accessible by bus and tube.

To apply for this role you must hold an HLTA qualification.
