We have exciting opportunities for both Planners and Principal Planners within Central London and the Greater London areas, to assist the Area Delivery Leads or Major Applications Coordinators

The role will be leading and managing complex agreements including commissioning and clienting professional services and managing the risk to the council. All applicants must have previous Public Sector experience.

Main purpose of post

  • To be the lead Planning Officer for a defined area, ensuring a co-ordinated approach to planning, development, and regeneration within that area.
  • Assisting the Area Delivery Leads or Major Applications Coordinator in the management of the team and undertaking work of a strategic nature.
  • Leading and managing complex agreements including commissioning and clienting professional services
  • Providing guidance to key strategic decision-makers and making a full contribution to the achievement of relevant performance targets and corporate outcomes.
  • Working independently of the Area Delivery Lead or Major Applications Coordinator dealing with and leading on major and complex planning applications, planning performance agreements, developments proposals or projects, including undertaking negotiations, carrying out research and preparing and presenting all types of reports to senior stakeholders
  • Being responsible for negotiating complex S106 legal agreements and other funding agreements.
  • Prepare planning and site briefs for major development
  • Produce professional advice, briefing information, advice, and reports on very complex and/or contentious planning applications

Pay Rates: £15.25 - £31.78 PAYE per hour, depending on experience and level of role (to be reviewed after 3 months)

Hours: Monday – Friday, between 35 – 40 Hours per week
