Sanza Teaching Agency is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school with a well-established SEN department in Plumstead, London. This is a full-time, long-term position ideal for individuals who are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children with special educational needs.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: 85-95 per day increasing after 12 weeks

Key Responsibilities:

Providing tailored support to pupils with special educational needs, both in group settings and on a one-to-one basis.

Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons to accommodate the diverse learning needs of students.

Supporting students with their academic, social, and emotional development, fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Collaborating with other members of the SEN department, teachers, and parents to ensure effective communication and holistic support for students.

Implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) as directed by the SENCO.

Requirements:

Relevant experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably within a primary school setting.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.

Understanding of various special educational needs, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language difficulties.

Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students who may present challenging behaviours.

A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting students in their learning journey.
