We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated graduates in English, Math, and Science to join our team as Teaching Assistants in our secondary school starting in September. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students across various subjects, primarily focusing on English, Math, and Science.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons in English, Math, and Science.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance or extension activities.
  • Help create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to academic growth.
  • Support classroom management and behavior management strategies as directed by the lead teacher.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of classroom materials, resources, and equipment for lessons and activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to assess student progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide feedback to students on their work and assist in the assessment and grading process.
  • Supervise students during lessons, breaks, and extracurricular activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Attend meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities as required by the school.
  • Uphold the school's policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding, equality, and diversity.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Mathematics, Science, or a related field.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for education, particularly in secondary school settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to adapt to the needs of diverse learners.
  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and adhere to safeguarding policies.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and willingness to learn and grow in the role.
  • Flexibility to support students across different subjects and year groups as required.
  • Positive attitude and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of young people.
