Reed Human Resources- London & City are looking to recruit a HR Operations Manager (Project Lead) on a 12-month FTC.

You will be required to undertake several projects to be introduced and completed within their financial year 2024-2025.

As the HR Operations Manager, you will guide on best practices and contribute to continuous improvement whilst overseeing the HR function in the Head Office in London. The function mainly provides support to London employees in two locations.

This role works closely with the HR Director for the EMEA region (who is not based in London), the role therefore has a great degree of autonomy to manage and improve the services. On occasion, as the HR Operations Managers, you will act in the capacity of “trusted adviser” and “lead collaborator” for the EMEA HR Leads (a recent example of this is compensation benchmarking as a global project).

The ideal candidate should be MCIPD or have a degree in Human Resources Management or related field along with relevant work experience in a senior-level position, ideally with exposure to working with overseas subsidiaries, with global parent company reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • You will oversee the activities of the local HR team which involves the entire employee lifecycle (on/off boarding, recruitment, supporting recruiting managers, pre-employment checks etc) and track progress. The team members also deal office facilities, first aid and health and safety.
  • Comprehensive review and improve internal HR process and systems that could be subject to audit and compliance.
  • Review and approve or modify budgets for HR and Training activities and approve monthly invoices for office and HR suppliers.
  • Design and implement company policies, including the regular review of the company handbook.
  • Provide HR analytics to support and inform decision-making.
  • Act as a consultant to managers and staff regarding policies and procedures.
  • Support managers/HR team in presenting information and review for end of year process for performance bonuses, inflationary pay rises and promotion for Director approval.
  • Have experience of HR technology and recommend new software to address personnel needs, like HR databases and performance review tools.
  • Together with the team, address employees’ queries (e.g. compensation, policies, and regulations)
  • Support the (EMEA) HR Director in organising the annual HR Meeting, with contribution to key ideas on subject areas. Independently present with the meeting to EMEA HR Managers on topics that are educational and of value.
  • Review and develop employee benefits to improve attraction and retention.

Skills

  • Recent “Hands-on” experience, with broad generalist knowledge.
  • Previous experience in building a small HR team and team management skills.
  • Proven work experience as an HR Operations Manager, HR Manager or similar role.
  • Exposure to working with overseas subsidiaries.
  • Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems and implementing new systems.
  • Experience designing compensation and benefits packages.
  • Ability to develop clear and fair company policies.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional written, verbal communication skills and presenting experience.
  • Exposure to global mobility assignments is desirable.
