About the Role
The Client is a dynamic and growing healthcare recruitment and care services group seeking an experienced HR Consultant to support their leadership and management teams with professional HR services across their group brands.This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and hands-on HR generalist with SME experience to act as a trusted in-house advisor on a flexible, consultancy basis. You will embed yourself into the company’s operations 1-2 days per week, becoming familiar with the teams, culture, and processes to help us grow and retain a high-performing workforce.
What You'll Do
- Work closely with Directors and managers to provide professional, proactive HR advice tailored to each brand’s needs
- Oversee day-to-day HR operations including:- Drafting and issuing offer letters, contracts, and performance improvement plans- Managing employee relations cases including disciplinaries, grievances, and absence- Supporting the full employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding
- Develop and implement effective staff retention, engagement, and wellbeing initiatives
- Support the selection process by advising on job design, shortlisting, interviewing, and candidate evaluation
- Monitor compliance with employment law, right-to-work checks, and best practice HR standards
- Help managers resolve interpersonal or performance challenges within their teams
- Regularly review and update HR documentation, templates, and policies across the brands
- Design and deliver internal training sessions for line managers on people management
- Provide reporting and analysis on absence, turnover, and workforce trends
Who We're Looking For
- Minimum CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent qualification)
- At least 5 years of experience in an HR generalist or HRBP role, preferably supporting SMEs
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law, HR policies, and best practices
- Excellent interpersonal skills - approachable, pragmatic, and commercially minded
- Strong written and verbal communication - able to draft clear policies, letters, and reports
- Experience working with diverse teams and managing sensitive issues with discretion
- Comfortable supporting both recruitment agency staff and registered care services
