Your new companyThis role sits within a People Operations team, providing proactive HR services across an organisation. The People Advisor will support managers and employees by delivering effective guidance on various HR issues such as employee relations, policies and procedures, HR systems, and key projects. This position works under the direction of People Managers and People Business Partners.Your new roleKey Responsibilities and Outcomes:
- Foster strong working relationships within the People Team and across the organisation.
- Advise and coach managers on HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and consistency in application, under the guidance of the People Manager and People Business Partners.
- Collaborate with team members to provide flexible support during absences or peak demand periods.
- Ensure coverage of the People Inbox, responding to employee queries in a timely and accurate manner as part of a rota system.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of people policies and guidance, and support the delivery of learning and management development programs.
- Offer high-quality advice to managers to resolve employee relations issues quickly and effectively, referring more complex cases to senior HR personnel as needed.
- Assist in the delivery of wider People team initiatives and projects.
- Promote HR initiatives and provide regular updates and guidance to employees via internal platforms.
- Support the ongoing use and maintenance of the HR system, including generating reports to assist with absence management, performance management, and workforce planning.
- Uphold the organisation's values of fairness, learning, openness, and excellence in all aspects of the role.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including managers, employees, and team members.
- In-depth understanding of HR policies and procedures, and the ability to apply them in line with current employment legislation and organisational needs.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, particularly during busy periods or absences.
- A flexible and adaptable attitude to support team goals and provide coverage when needed.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to maintain attention to detail, especially when handling employee queries and reporting requirements.
- Ability to handle sensitive and complex employee relations issues with discretion and professionalism.
- Experience in using HR management systems, with the ability to generate and interpret reports to inform decision-making and support HR activities.
- A commitment to continuous learning and development, both personally and as part of the wider People team.
