FPG has a fantastic permanent opportunity for a Principal Network Engineer / Network Architect with CCIE / JNCIA / JNCIS certifications. This is a great opportunity to join a global provider of their own products and solutions within software and network engineering.


If you are looking to become a Principal Engineer or Technical Lead then this is the opportunity for you. In this key role, you'll help to validate, approve and deliver cutting edge solutions to a portfolio of customers which include some of the world's leading telecom operators and ISP's.


Essential requirements are extensive Routing & Switching experience (in relation to 5G wireless / fixed accesss networking), hands-on solutions engineering experience on POC (Proof-of-Concepts), in-lab experience and customer-facing experience validating customer requests and technical presentations in the area of IP / MPLS and SR Routing.


Bonus: subscriber management experience (BNG / CGNAT / WAG). If you have automation experience in the area of YANG, NETCONF / RESTCONF RESTFUL interface, this would also be highly desirable.

The opportunity:


Our client is a market leading provider of network solutions, with a global customer-base of some of the world’s leading telecommunication companies. You will work with on next-generation and cloud products and join a customer facing team as the Technical Lead and as a key contributor within solutions engineering.


Behind the scenes, you will work with the product team, product management and sales engineering teams to help bring our client’s cutting-edge technology and solutions to market.


You will also work directly with our client’s customers to help deliver solutions to their network challenges and in achieving their business objects with our client’s solutions.


Responsibilities:

• You will lead customer engagements as a technical lead, including POC (proof of concept) for products and solutions as well as in-lab and in-field trials. During the process, you will record client requests for improvements and product issues that might be included in future releases.

• In order to aid in the comprehension and implementation of new technology and/or goods /solutions into customer networks, you will define, create, and assess customer technical presentations, networking and solutions test plans, and engineering guides.

• You will provide pre- and post-sales engineering support to global account teams, assisting with customer bids, technical consultations, solution/application evaluation and design, and other engineering Q&A.

• You will expand your expertise and impart it to other internal and external teams, communities, and customers by describing architectures, capabilities, constraints, and benefits of product positioning.

• As a product subject matter expert, you will work from our lab location and advise both internal employees and our customers.


Experience:

• 10 years plus of experience in communications networks; knowledge of IP, MPLS, and SR routing; theoretical and configuration expertise based on standards (OSPF, BGP, ISIS, MPLS-based IP VPNs); comprehension of fibre optic communication systems and optical technologies, including coherent modems, 5G wireless networks and infrastructure, and cloud computing concepts.

• This opportunity will give you training and knowledge of access networks, such as BNG, WAG, and CGNAT subscriber management

• Cloud technology experience and knowledge of YANG data model structures and NBIs, including CLI, NETCONF, and REST.

• Ideally, we are looking for someone to be hands-on and can go to the office along the M4 region and London as it will provide the opportunity to work on real telecommunication elements and learn how to design solutions for GCNs and telecom operators.

• The capacity to travel to our other facilities or customer sites for periods of time ranging from a few days to a few weeks at a time.

• Experience with a variety of test equipment and/or test procedures in a laboratory setting.

• Possessing platform experience with Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, Ciena, Nokia, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc. is advantageous.
