Application Support Lead / Manager (Buyside Portfolio Management) London to £130k

Do you have expertise with Application Support within a buyside environment (Hedge Fund / Investment or Asset Manager) combined with strong leadership skills?

You could be progressing your career at a global, hugely profitable, Investment Management firm.

As an Application Support Manager you will remain hands-on and head up a small, highly talented team of Application System Analysts (approximately 4) providing technical support to Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Analysts, Researchers and Business Managers on complex real-time trading systems in a busy investment and trading floor environment.

You'll build trusted relationships and champion the needs of business stakeholders, providing timely and accurate reporting / issue tracking and communications with IT and Investors and manage production incidents to ensure appropriate escalation, assisting in determining root cause and preventative measures.

You will ensure adherence to SOC1 requirements, Incident / Problem Management process and documentation, including follow through using ITIL framework and be responsible for the day-to-day management of the team, providing line management, coaching and guidance.

WFH Policy:

You'll join colleagues in the London office with flexibility to work from home 1-2 days a week in a hybrid model.

Requirements:

  • You have experience of supporting Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Analysts in the front office of a buy-side firm, with a good understanding of financial instruments such as stocks, bonds, swaps, options, futures, forwards, derivatives and FX
  • You have experience of supporting critical production applications
  • You have advanced analysis, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and are able to build strong working relationships and manage stakeholders
  • You have experience of managing small teams, providing line management, coaching and mentoring
  • You have experience with advanced investment data concepts such as holdings, transactions, security master, analytics, and performance and a detailed knowledge of investor workflows in areas of research / valuation, analysis and portfolio construction
  • You are degree educated in a technical discipline
