Are you a Power BI Specialist in search for an exciting new job opportunity? If so, one of the largest public sector organisations based in London are looking to recruit a Power BI Developer on a 3-month contract (with possibility of an extensions), starting immediately, to join their growing team. It is a full-time role, Mon-Friday, 35 hours per week and hybrid work (2 days a week in the office), office is walking distance from Southwark/London Bridge stations. 

THE ROLE:

As a Power BI Creator your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain interactive and insightful data visualizations using Power BI. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs, gather data from various sources, transform and clean the data, and create engaging dashboards and reports that facilitate data-driven decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborating with Stakeholders:

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their reporting requirements and objectives.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications for Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Communicate and present data insights effectively to stakeholders.

Data Gathering and Preparation:

  • Collect data from multiple sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and APIs.
  • Clean and transform data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevance.
  • Perform data modelling and create relationships between different data sources.

Developing Interactive Dashboards, Apps, and Reports:

  • Design and develop interactive and visually appealing dashboards using Power BI.
  • Create compelling visualisations, including charts, graphs, tables, and maps.
  • Incorporate filters, slicers, and drill-through functionalities to enhance data exploration.

Data Analysis and Interpretation:

  • Perform in-depth data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Identify key metrics and KPIs to track performance and monitor data quality.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and domain experts to ensure data accuracy and relevance.

Report Automation and Distribution:

  • Automate the data refresh process to ensure real-time or scheduled updates of reports.
  • Set up data-driven alerts and notifications to inform stakeholders of critical changes.
  • Develop efficient report distribution mechanisms to ensure the right information reaches the right audience.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to data connections, data refresh, and report performance.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates to keep the Power BI ecosystem running smoothly.
  • Stay up-to-date with new features and functionalities of Power BI and explore ways to leverage them effectively.
