Product Designer - Hybrid Working - Outside IR35

Our client in the Autmotive sector are currently looking to hire a Product Designer with experience in Design Systems to join the team on a hybrid working contract basis. This role would be Outside IR35.

Details:

  • Design, develop and implement core design tools and frameworks including the Design System, UI kits, data visualisation library, experience principles, and feed into IA.
  • Collaborate with front end developers to build a code library and ensure systems, tools and frameworks work for both teams.
  • Participate in, and contribute to, the end-to-end design process taking on additional activities as needed to support delivery (where relevant)
  • Facilitate workshops, leading discussions, aligning with peers or stakeholders and updating on actions / outcomes.
  • Advocate for a systems / holistic approach to experience design, identifying opportunities to improve consistency, experience and collaboration across teams.
  • Give and solicit feedback from others to raise the quality and craftsmanship of the product and inspire colleagues about the role of Product Design and the value it brings.
  • Facilitate workshops, present designs, prototypes and concepts to cross functional partners and stakeholders.
  • Be an expert in your field, using external inspiration, tools, techniques & emerging technologies to inform decision-making.
  • Work closely with user research colleagues to obtain regular user feedback, using this to understand opportunities to improve the experience of our products.

Key Experience:

  • 5+ years as a product designer with a portfolio of work which demonstrates a breadth of visual design, interaction design and product thinking skills
  • Experience designing and defining products from early concepting to launch and iteration, with experience in B2C mobile app design and data visualisation
  • Experience in building design systems and UI kits, and expert knowledge of UI and visual design elements for IOS, android and web applications demonstrated in your portfolio
  • Deep understanding of user-centred design methods, UX research methodologies, product discovery and skills developing the insights into user outcomes
  • Experience working with cross functional agile product teams, including engineering & product owners (essential) and experience working with data science teams to visualise and tell the story of the data (preferable)
  • Strong communication skills. Adept at presenting work to a broader product team and other leaders, clearly and succinctly articulating the goals, concepts & designs to bring cross functional teams and stakeholders along the journey with you
  • Skilled user of common design and collaboration software such as Miro, Figma, Jira etc.
