A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Luxury 5* Corporate Hotel brand, Canary Riverside Plaza Hotel in Canary Wharf, East London.


We are currently recruiting a Night Kitchen Porter (Casual Capacity) to be a part of our main Culinary Heartbeat of Canary Riverside Plaza Hotel, the Quadrato Restaurant Kitchen Department.


Set within the historic wharfs and quays of East London, Canary Riverside Plaza is the only five-star independent hotel in Canary Wharf. The 142 spacious guest rooms and suites make for an incredibly comfortable stay, be it for business or leisure, offering stunning views of the River Thames and city beyond. Enjoy the full five-star experience with access to the adjacent Health Club and Spa or indulge with afternoon tea on the sun-filled terrace at the Quadrato Restaurant.


Quadrato Restaurant offers Italian inspired menus with flavours that are light, fresh and quintessentially Italian. The incredible view of the River Thames and London skyline are best enjoyed from the elegant terrace or on colder days, the soaring windows of the restaurant. The adjacent Quadrato Bar & Lounge offers an array of signature cocktails, wine, beer and spirits and is the perfect place for pre-dinner drinks or a night cap.

Key qualities we are looking from the Night Kitchen Porter (Casual Capacity):


As Night Kitchen Porter, you will be fastidious in your approach to keeping the Quadrato Restaurant Kitchen Department running as efficiently as possible by ensuring the crockery, cutlery, kitchen equipment and service areas are kept immaculately clean and ready for use. You’ll have high standards when it comes to cleaning and be meticulous about the health and safety of both staff and guests alike. You’ll take ownership and pride in your work and will support all the Chefs in delivering an excellent impeccable Guest Service.


The main responsibilities for this role would include:


• Reporting malfunction of services, equipment and any repair requirements relating to wall surfaces, floors, light fittings or wall switches, to the Head Chef/ Chief steward.

• Ensure your behaviour respects the perspective, privacy, safety and security of our guests, contractors and work colleagues at all times.

• Communicate clearly between food service team and culinary colleagues - both ways.

• Ensure all duties are discharged safely and that risk to self and others is minimised.

• Execute all activity on cleaning schedule in a methodical and timely manner.

• Maintain supply of clean food service materials and culinary equipment / cookware as required.

• Ensure that all prescribed and designed process, systems and standards are maintained.

• Maintain your work station cleanliness and tidiness constantly.

• Ensure you are 'enplace' in sufficient time for service and that your station contributes consistently to a highly effective service session.

• Ensure you close down your section and complete end of shift procedures.

• Ensure compliance with legal requirements under the Health and Safety Act 1974 and Food Safety, Allergens, COSHH and any relevant compliance.
