About the Role

A vibrant primary school in Tower Hamlets is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Learning Mentor to join their pastoral support team from 24th November. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact by supporting children's emotional well-being, behaviour, and engagement across Key Stage 2.

As a Learning Mentor, you'll work closely with the school's SENCO and pastoral staff to help pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and develop positive attitudes towards school life.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring sessions for pupils who require social, emotional, or behavioural support.

  • Support classroom learning and help students engage positively with lessons.

  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and outside agencies to ensure consistent support strategies.

  • Promote emotional resilience and positive relationships among pupils.

  • Contribute to the wider school community and its inclusive ethos.



Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant, or in a pastoral role within a school.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Understanding of social, emotional, and behavioural needs (SEMH).

  • Calm, compassionate, and proactive approach to mentoring and support.

  • A genuine commitment to helping children thrive academically and personally.
