The Job

The client specialises in the conservation of buildings and structures and are involved in the care, repair, maintenance and adaptation of the historic built environment.

You willprovide appropriate methods of maintenance, repair and adaptation of the buildings for Net Zero and climate resilience.This will include ensuring that appropriate decisions are made about adaptation and reuse versus new build, as well as retrofitting in ways that avoid harming heritage assets.

  • Provide leadership by developing and promoting technical guidance for building adaptation for Net Zero and climate resilience.
  • Work in partnership with professional institutions, industry bodies and other relevant organisations to improve standards and best practice.
  • Responsible for oversight and management of team budgets and procurement of equipment and services.
  • Knowledge of policy, guidance and best practice driving the decarbonisation of buildings.

The Person
  • Professional qualification in Architecture or Building Surveying.
  • Experience diagnosing defects and specifying works to upgrade traditional buildings.
  • Experience of drafting technical reports.
