I am currently representing Tower Hamlets Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience
We are looking for a Housing Processing Officer this role will be: E14 2BG - 3 days office based.
The right candidate will:
To clear backlog housing licensing applications for projects. Must have IT skills, preferably understanding of the Housing Act 2004 Part 2 & 3, attention to details is essential.
- To undertake processing of all applications for Selective, Additional and Mandatory licensing applications and carry application case load ensuring all work is undertaken in accordance with statutory requirements
- To understand technical and legislation of Private sector housing requirements within the applications and be able to assess and identify risks in processing applications
- To undertake investigations/revisits under relevant Environmental Health Legislation, including visiting sites alone taking necessary notes in premises, such visits will involve attending locations and encountering situations which may involve personal risk.
- To provide advice with application enquiries and provide customer service to the public.
We require the following:
- Experience of providing high level support to lead Officers on complex investigations and busy environments
- Good with computer systems, database such as Civica APP if possible.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation within Private rented sector licensing
